Frequently asked questions.

What do these three guys have to do with RockeyRoad Consulting?

Nothing and everything. Part of the work and the fun is to make certain we know what we are working with. Not making assumptions. Making the invisible, visible. Giving voice to who and what needs to be heard. Before we find the solution to an organizational problem or set a goal for a coaching engagement - let’s make certain we have really identified the problem or the opportunity. Those three guys just might have the answer.

How does the consulting or coaching process work?

The consulting or coaching approach involves several stages or steps that guide the engagement between the consultant/coach and the client. While the specific steps can vary depending on the nature of the consulting or coaching services, the process typically follows this path:

  • Initial consultation and Discovery Call

  • Documented Proposal or Agreement

  • Assessment and Analysis

  • Goal Setting and Action Plan

  • Implementation and Iterative Coaching

  • Evaluation and Sustainability

  • Engagement Closure

How much does it cost to engage RockeyRoad Consulting?

I am so glad you asked because cost is most always a deciding factor in a procurement decision. It depends upon elements such as: the service, the number of participants, the desired outcomes of the program, the length and number of sessions, the materials and the topics. Coaching has pretty much set pricing and packages, where consulting and facilitation tend to be customized to the organizational or team needs. Let’s go with “a fair and agreed to price”. And, feel welcome to request a trail map or bring this up during our Discovery Call.

What is a “Discovery Call?” What can I expect during the call?

A Discovery Call is a common term used to describe the initial conversation with a potential client. The purpose of this call is to gain a better understanding of the client's needs, assess whether RockeyRoad services align with those needs, and determine if there is a good fit for a potential working relationship. Here's what you can generally expect during a Discovery Call:

  • Introductions: getting to know each other

  • Understanding the organization/person: framework and elements and current challenges and aspirations

  • Consultant’s background: methods, values and areas of expertise

  • Discussion to seek initial clarity on the request: perceived scope, timeline, deliverables, outcomes and expectations

  • Questions and confirmation: alignment and role clarity

  • Next steps: accountable actions for the consultant and the client.
